Gaurav is a seasoned transaction banker with 27 years of solid experience across Indian Private Sector and Foreign banks. In his last stint in the banking industry, Gaurav was leading the Trade Business for South Asia Region at Standard Chartered at a position of Managing Director. Gaurav founded Finexus Labs in early 2024, which is developing a fintech platform to bridge the credit gap in Indian SME sector. He is an alumnus of INSEAD and Delhi University (Business Economics Department).

Gaurav's top most interest is in leveraging technology to bring efficiency in hitherto paper intensive world of trade finance and during his tenure as board member of SWIFT India Pvt. Ltd.

Between 2019-2023, Gaurav actively worked with SWIFT India team to accelerate Trade Digitization agenda.

Gaurav's latest foray in fintech space aims at bringing visibility of the intricate web of supply chain by using the power of technology thereby reducing risks and costs for deeper tiers a in supply chains and also opening the doors for driving ESG agenda in these deeper supply chains.

Gaurav is an expert for South Asia region (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal) and has steered the Trade Business for the region for almost a decade through several turbulent times. His core strength lies in launching new products and structuring complex transactions, in a manner which is compliant with local regulations.

Gaurav is well known in India for his trade expertise and has been a regular panel member in several conferences and TV shows, his last such engagement was in a panel discussion on Trade Finance organized for G20 Trade & Investment working group (TIWG).
