Hussam Alkokhon
Hussam is a seasoned trade finance expert with over 20 years of extensive experience in international trade, spanning across Jordan, UAE, and Qatar. He holds a bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance Science from Philadelphia University. Additionally, he is certified as a CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) by the London Institute for Banking and Finance, and as a CBE (Certified Blockchain Expert) by the Blockchain Council.
Demonstrating effective leadership skills, Hussam excels in navigating organizational change and fostering cohesive teams to achieve strategic objectives. He actively participates in industry associations, chairing ICC Qatar's Commission on Customs & Trade Facilitation, and holds memberships in various prestigious councils, highlighting his commitment to driving industry advancements.
Hussam is recognized for his expertise in trade finance and frequently addresses diverse audiences at industry events, covering a wide range of topics. He was honoured with the "Trade Finance Digital Pioneer of the Year 2024" award by ICC-UK's Centre for Digital Trade and Innovation (C4DTI), showcasing his dedication to fostering innovation in the field.
Among his recent achievements, Hussam organized a conference on the adaptation of UNCITRAL MLETR in Qatar and spearheaded a taskforce under ICC-Qatar to establish a legal framework aligned with Qatari law. This initiative promises to facilitated electronic records transfer and accelerated trade digital transformation efforts.
