Mark Borton
Mark Borton has a 40-year career in trade, transaction banking and technology, having worked in the UK, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore covering businesses across these regions.
Whilst at Standard Chartered, he ran operations, product, client service and technology implementation businesses covering UK/Europe and Northeast Asia, before moving to Australia with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he headed its trade/invoice finance product team.
He spent 12 years at National Australia Bank, initially running trade product, before moving to Singapore in 2012 and establishing the product function for trade, cash and private wealth Asia.
This was followed by incorporating the head of sales role for trade and cash, Asia in addition to the trade product functions for Asia and Australia.
After relocating to Sydney in 2022, Mark worked for MonetaGo where he was managing director Australia/New Zealand,and head of business development APAC.
Mark is the founder/managing director of Toredo Global Consulting, a trade, invoice and supply chain finance consultancy based in Sydney.
Mark has served on the board of numerous industry bodies, including the Bankers Association for Finance & Trade (BAFT, main board director and Asia Council co-chair), the International Chamber of Commerce Australia Banking Committee (chair), and the Australia/New Zealand regional board of the International Trade & Forfaiting Association (ITFA).
