Meral Sengoz is a trade finance, fintech and blockchain/DLT expert with over two decades of experience in corporate and commercial banking, as well as more than two years of fintech expertise.

Meral was previously a Turkey consultant and client executive at Marco Polo Network, a start-up trade finance platform provider and network operator that offered working capital, trade finance and payment solutions using R3’s Corda distributed ledger technology.

Before that, she spent 21 years at Isbank, most recently as a trade finance product manager. Her responsibilities at the bank included management of cross-border trade finance and commercial loan products, supply chain finance solutions and corporate cash management.

Meral began her career working as a foreign trade specialist for Turkey’s Ministry of Economy.

Throughout her career, Meral has gained extensive experience in trade and supply chain finance digitalisation, using new technologies, new business models and new legal frameworks. Her project management expertise includes the digital transformation of trade finance products and the implementation of DLT-based trade finance systems, specifically the adoption of the Bank Payment Obligation, RPI applications and the use of Marco Polo Network's blockchain with Payment Commitment.
