Scott Stevenson

Scott is a career international banker and emerging markets specialist.

In his latest role, Scott was the Senior Vice-President: Trade at the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT), the leading global association for international transaction banking. At BAFT, Scott had a leading role in industry advocacy for such initiatives as the Basel Endgame response to regulators, interface with IASB and FASB in response to their proposals regarding changes to Supply Chain Finance reporting requirements and promoting adaptation of the Uniform Commercial Code Amendments in the US and MLETR globally.

Prior to BAFT, Scott worked as a Managing Director: Trade, with Momentus Global, where his focus was on program review, strategy formulation and product development for numerous multi-laterals including the Inter-American Development Bank (IaDB), Afreximbank and the International Islamic Trade Corporation (IITFC).

For 18 years, Scott lived and worked in South-East Asia, serving both as a County Manager and Trade Specialist with Standard Chartered Bank. In his last role with StanChar, Scott was the Asia Regional Head for Financial Institutions, based in Singapore.

At the outset of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, Scott was recruited by the World Bank Group to join a newly formed Corporate Restructuring Group and was based in Jakarta for 2 years. Scott then moved over to the private sector arm of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a Principal Investment Officer in the Global Financial Markets Group. He was then asked to become the Senior Global Manager for the newly formed Trade and Supply Chain Solutions group at IFC, and was a leading force in the expansion of the Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP) from the initial $300 million authorization to become a $5 billion program operating in 82 counties supporting over 250 emerging market banks.
