Steve Pairman

Steve Pairman is a payments and banking expert with over three decades of experience in retail, corporate and commercial banking, as well as more than four years of management consultancy expertise.

Prior to being a self-employed consultant, Steve was executive director for Standard Chartered Bank, where he led the regional corporate cash product function, covering payments, liquidity and cash management. Steve also had responsibility for the regional digital channels covering cash and trade.

Before joining Standard Chartered, Steve spent 10 years at JP Morgan, where he was responsible for the low-value payments product in Europe, developing a deep understanding of the payments value chain.

He was a member of various industry stakeholder groups at UK Finance and EBA Clearing.

Steve’s management consulting experience, at KPMG and Atos Origin, saw him engaged in several projects ranging from cash management system deployment, through to IT assurance and design and operating model development.

Steve has always had a passion for the payments industry and has seen this evolve over the last few years to the dynamic, fast-changing world of today. His experience is across the payments world, from consumer cards through to the complexities of cross-border trade flow settlement.
