Ulf-Peter Noetzel joined BasConsult GmbH in 2022 which is a boutique advisory firm specialised in IT-solutions and Trade Finance.

Ulf-Peter previously worked as Managing Director and Chairman of Trade Finance - Financial Institutions Deutsche Bank AG before taking early retirement end of March 2022.

Based in Frankfurt, Germany, he has held several senior management positions in the Financial Institutions business, globally as well as regionally. In his most recent role, he was responsible for implementing new sales and product initiatives next to optimizing Deutsche Bank’s global correspondent banking network for the Trade Finance business with financial institutions. He additionally served as Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Bank Representative Office (Nigeria) Limited, Lagos.

Prior to this role, he spent several years in Singapore as Regional Sales Head in charge of promoting cash and trade products to banks across Asia.

Ulf-Peter holds a degree as Dipl. Bankbetriebswirt from the Bank Academy in Frankfurt (School of Finance) and was also a member of their board of curators. Moreover, he was formerly a member of the BAFT’s Executive Committee and the BAFT Europe Council. He was also involved in the Debt Service Suspension Initiative of the World Bank and the IMF as a member the International Institute of Finance.

Ulf-Peter brings a broad knowledge of Trade Finance products coupled with extensive experience with Emerging Markets, particularly in Africa.
